The 2026 season got its first taste of footy on June 27, when the Riverton Seagulls and Lehi Raiders met in the preseason double-header under the Hopoate Cup banner — the first URLA fixture ever run with full live stat tracking, so every score that follows comes straight from the match log.

Raiders draw first blood

The scoreline says blowout; the match log says otherwise. It was Lehi who struck first — Sam L. crossed for the game’s opening try and the Raiders led 4–0. When Riverton answered through Selwyn F. and TJ B., the Raiders punched straight back: Ken V. dotted down and Quinn M. added the extras, and at 12–10 this was anybody’s game.

Then the dam broke

From 12–10, the Seagulls scored 48 unanswered points. Jaxon W. restarted the scoring, Laauli F. got rolling on his way to four tries, TJ B. kept his afternoon building, and Harrison M. crossed twice in the second stretch. Selwyn F. finished with a try and four goals, and Celcius T. kept the conversions coming off the tee. By the time the run ended it was 60–10.

Lehi finish with a flurry

Credit to the Raiders for the last word before the end: Jarrett H. crossed and Quinn M. converted, then Ryan H. added another to push Lehi to 20. TJ B. had the final say — his hat-trick try, converted by Celcius T., closed it at 66–20.
